True change happens when equity is at the center
Our Corporate Citizenship approach is rooted in health justice. We're deeply committed to helping all Massachusetts residents lead healthy lives and ensuring equitable access to the environments, experiences, and education needed for good health.
Through our partnerships with civic and community leaders, we focus on overcoming the immediate barriers that prevent us from achieving physical, mental, and emotional wellness, and working to dismantle their root causes.
Harnessing innovation to overcome health disparities
Imagine a network of organizations, all working to develop rapid innovations to tackle health disparities. This is the aspiration of our Accelerator program. By engaging leading nonprofits in collaborative initiatives and providing funding, training, facilitation, pro bono support, and networking opportunities, we seek to deliver on three core strategies:
- Grow and evolve promising, proven models
- Foster innovation by investing in new, fresh ideas
- Convene leaders to encourage collaboration and advance knowledge sharing
Accelerating change in our communities:
The Collaborative (Dorchester)
In 2017, we launched our first collaborative–Dot Rx–with Codman Square Health Center and five neighborhood nonprofits to develop a prescription-based program that connects families with peer health coaches and free or reduced-cost healthy living resources and programming.
The Collaborative 2.0 (East Boston)
In 2020, we kicked off our second collaborative with East Boston Neighborhood Health Center to expand and strengthen its Community Resource and Wellness Center–a hub for connecting East Boston residents to social services.
Nonprofit Accelerator Grants
Through our Accelerator Grants, we provide funding and pro bono support to nonprofits across Massachusetts to test innovative solutions to health challenges in their communities.
