Celebrating our annual companywide day of service
On Sept. 26, 2024, 3,000 Blue Cross employees came together on 80 volunteer projects to support healthy, equitable, sustainable communities across Massachusetts and nationwide.
These team-building projects aligned with our long-standing commitment to health justice, particularly through partnerships with not-for-profits focused on environmental sustainability, food access, racial equity and community health.
Since Service Day's inception in 2011, Blue Cross has contributed nearly $12 million in financial and in-kind support. Each not-for-profit receives a minimum $2,500 contribution as well as volunteer support for the project.
See highlights from Service Day 2024:
Named the most community-focused health care company in the U.S.
Service Day is the signature initiative of our award-winning corporate social responsibility program. By engaging employees through Service Day and year-round opportunities, we hope to match last year’s employee volunteer rate of 88%, which is four times greater than the corporate average.
In 2024, Blue Cross was named national health care sector leader and five-time honoree on The Civic 50, a list of the most community-focused companies in the U.S., according to Points of Light, a nonpartisan, global not-for-profit dedicated to volunteer service.
